Holiday Activities

A fruitful holiday! Had a very long rest,anyway,there's good bonding time :)

Besides visiting the Bishan Children's library (basement) where books are relativley new,we also did puzzles,drove mini car,wrap wonton,did housework, rode bicycle,visited Book fairs, visited Downtown East,visited KMSPKS,played fishing game (learnt from "Parenting 456") etc.

Have a very good year ahead everyone!!!

Fei Yue Community Services is having another round of Parenting 456 workshop.

If you’re thinking how to go about instilling and teaching the young ones the correct values, Parenting 456! is the workshop that you should attend!! This workshop aims to equip parents with skills in teaching moral education, what to teach and how to go about teaching them in the day to day activities of daily living. With these additional skills, parents can further help their children establish strong moral fibers that are much needed and that will help them to withstand the challenges of life and emerge tall and successfully inasmuch as they could.

Family Hangouts

Just visited the Singapore Biennale 2008 today,this is the 2nd Edition (1st Edition is in 2006) but it's our very first visit actually :)

We rarely visit Art Exhibitions but some of the visual arts exhibits are interesting and appealing. This 2nd Edition also includes the first Kids' Biennale which is really really beautiful.There are about 5/6 rooms of exhibits for the children and by the children (featuring children's artworks). Aha, JX is more interested in the toy train in the IKEA playroom (see picture).


On Children's Day,we went to the airport and discovered new playthings at T3: an interactive "lights" game and a "Scratch Board". Anyway, JX still enjoys playing on the slide at Budget Terminal.

Great TV show (Ch U)

Just viewed episode 3 of "Knowing your child" (小宝宝！大问题？) over Ch U just now, great show for young parents! Today's show featured speech training for children (from babies to toddlers). If you are a member of mobtv,you could download the episodes.

Magazines on Parenting

Can't hide my excitement,I went past an Indian Mama shop in Clementi today (I mean yesterday as it's past midnight) and spotted 2 Parenting magazines which are fabulous!! You may have read them before but just to share:

(2) Singapore's Child ($3.50) (it has information about early education)

Life-long learners,well, we're learning now as our children grows up in different stages,take a look! Or if anyone's interested to take a look,I'll bring it to school.

My mum also taught my boy how to identify countries on his "Globe Ball" and he recognised some. Children at this age of growth spurt needs lots of different kinds of exposure and memory training is really good!

Formal/Lively?

Hi,just thought the layout of the website is a bit "formal", like a company website (ooops! no hard feelings!) .Perhaps there could be some cute pictures,cartoons etc. to "liven" up a bit? And......if it's not too confidential, we could share our bbs' photos too!

Ok then... now for something slightly more serious. Hopefully we can learn something from this video so that our children won't be singing that song about us. :)
